Re: how to connect the A4's radio ?



for as long as i can remember, VW products have always had radios wired
directly to the battery--start with a 68 type iii (squareback), a '69 type i
(bug), a '73 type ii (microbus), a couple rabbits, and all the audis i've
known since (5 of them).  part of this may be because radios didn't seem to
be intended in the first place--they were mounted UNDER the dash in the
squareback, not IN it.

given that the early VW experience is from (i believe) before VW owned Audi,
I wonder if this is a German thing, a VW influenced Audi thing or just
coincidentally VW & Audi followed the same philosophy?
