Oil filters - some questions...

Just wondering - if you change oil every 3k miles drive in a moderate 
weather climate (30-80 F), would it not make sense to use use Fram 
because it costs less, but just as effective under these conditions over 
3k time period??

Sure, if you tend to gun the engine every time you're racing a 5.0L 
Rustang off the stop light, drive 5k between oil changes and live in 
places like Minnesota then using a good, well-maid filter makes a difference.
