FS: 1985 4k racecar project...
Well, I'm finally coming to grips with the fact that keeping my '85 Ur-Q
means my 4000 racecar project will be on hold for at least the next 18
months or so. Because I have no space for it in my garage, I'll have to
keep it outdoors under a cover (thus inviting rust to take hold of the
unpainted surfaces) or pay $125 or more each month to store it indoors.
Under the circumstances, though, neither of these options seems very
attractive to me at the moment...
So, with great reluctance, I'm putting the project up for sale. I was
preparing it for Solo II E-Prepared and E-Modified competition but it's also
suitable for ProRally's U2 class ... at the moment, the roll cage is done
and the shell is partially seam-welded. Photos of it can be seen at my web
page (URL's in my sig) and I'll be happy to send more photos and/or a video
tape to anyone who is seriously interested in it.

I'll also throw in a set of headlight molds, sunroof panel mold and trunk
lid mold that I made ... not great but serviceable. No doubt some other
things will turn up once I clear everything out and I'll throw them in along
with the rest of the stuff. (And in case you're wondering, Yes, I kept some
of the really trick parts for use with other projects down the road!)
As for price, I don't even want to think about what I've invested in all of
this to date but I'm looking for offers in the $3,500 range ... I might also
consider parting it out if no one wants the whole thing but if I can't get
$3,500 or so for the package one way or another, I might as well foot the
bill to store it instead ... after all, 18 months isn't *that* long, is it?
