Starting questions ('87 5kTQ)
It's been below zero here in Ft. Collins for the past few days. The TQ
seems to want to start just fine if it's just above zero, but if it's
anywhere below zero, it takes around ten _minutes_ to get her fired up.
This is only if she's left overnight (drove her to Breckenridge yesterday &
left her sit around for about six hours while we perused snow sculptures,
and she started just fine at 5 below.) She's been recently (last weekend)
tuned (cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter) and runs Mobil 1 synthetic
(thanks again, Cello.) The K&N was cleaned & re-oiled about 10,000 miles
ago. Ten minutes is really quite frustrating. Oh yeah, during the
cranking, the oil light comes on (level is fine tho, & it always
extenguishes as soon as she lights off.) As an aside, Ann drove the '84 5kS
(230,000 miles, about 25,000 miles since her last tune up, _used_ wires from
a friends '88 90Q, and two quarts low on dino oil) up here Friday night. It
sat in front of my house 'till about an hour ago (Sunday night) when we
scraped about 8 inches of snow off it. It's about 15 below. Crank it once
for _maybe_ four seconds, the pile of junk fired right up. Ideas anyone?
