Weekend Adventure


I went to mammoth lakes, (tammarack lodge) for
a ski race this weekend in my 82 Ur-Q.  Made
short work of the Mohave desert going both ways :-)

While parked in the lot at 8200 ft., I left my parking brake on
accidentally, duh!  heading down the hill after the race
to go home I noticed a huge tendancey to spin out when
turning right.  I stoped and found I havd a locked left rear
caliper, due to a frozen cable.  Being short of time, and knowing
it could take 45 minutes to defrost, I drove slowely down
to a friends house, stopping to throw snow at it periodically.
It loosened up in only about 15 minutes, with no real harm done, 
but if you don't have a problem with your audi every so often you 
get worried one will sneak up on you.  now I feel better thanks  :-)
