... well I wasn't planning to contribute anything on this, but it just so
happened that Andrew called me on Saturday about some other things so I
asked him about it. I have never met either of the parties involved, al-
though I have spoken to Andrew on the phone a couple of times WRT QCUSA ...

I mentioned the fact that this posting appeared on the quattro list to see
what his response would be. It took a second for him to figure out of whom
I was speaking (since I didn't have a copy of the post I was having difficulty
describing the situation). Andrew told me that he thought it might be a per-
son in Texas, and Andrew thought that he had shipped the person more than
they had asked for. Andrew told me that he had no other use for the frame
rails, and that the person never contacted him regarding any dissatisfaction.

Andrew told me that he does not have a computer, so he does not monitor the
quattro list. AAMOF, Andrew was not aware that the name of his company was
listed on the vendor list! Based on this situation I realized that it is
completely possible for a vendor's reputation to be damaged by the q-list/
vendor page without them even knowing! I'd like to make a suggestion about
"black listing" some vendor ... we should make sure that we have the com-
plete story, including the fact that the person did attempt to rectify the
issue with the vendor [which is not evident in this situation] and make
sure that the vendor has a chance to respond before removing their name from
the "approved" list. AAMOF, it is probably a good idea to have a process in
place where the vendor is contacted _before_ they get put on the list as well!

In any case caveat emptor should always be in force!
