100S rough idle

I'm new to this list, and have a question to ask.  I just bought a '92 100S
which i have fallen in love with very quickly.  My concern of late is a
rough idle which seems to come and go.  It also shows up when the engine is
cold or hot.  The car will almost stall when shifting the automatic from
Park to Drive.  The car has 52K miles.  Has anyone else had this problem in
the 2.8 ?  Also what are the differences (if any) between the older and new
2.8's ??
