Two important reasons to compromise from my point of view - I don't want to
add anything to the car that might call attention to it, either by the plods or
those of a sticky-fingered persuasion, and I don't need the redundancy that
rally pilots get from six or eight lights. It doesn't matter to me that I only
have two bulbs - if one goes out, I can stop and change it. A minor
consideration was not having to drill holes in the car, and also retaining
standard airflow into the bits that cool the engine - I do occasionally cruise
at well over 100mph in Germany.
Retaining the standard Euro glasses was thus a great benefit for me.
