That was my experience too...first new q was an 87 4kcsq, tires were Dunlops
(D-something all season), they lasted about 20k. Next was the 88 80q with
Goodyear NCT's which I changed at about 18k. Next was the 87 5kcstqw (Dunlops
again) which I bought at 19k and the tires were worn out. I ran VR Gatorbacks
(much lower wear rating btw) on both the 80q and the tqw and got in excess of
30k. I ran RE-71's (still a sentimental fav. of mine though technology may
have passed them by) on the 87 4kq but traded it in after an accident repair
rendered the car never the same so I can't say how they were lasting...but
seemed to be wearing quite well given the grip they had. Do O.E. tires have
different compounds than the same versions aftermarket?
