RE:A8 V12 / Spyder numbers & history

In a note dated 1/11/97, Christian J. Long states:

Who knows what they know about V12's...but they did one hell of a flat 12
once (care to recall the 917?). And seriously, having Porsche's help ain't
such a bad thing really...RS2 comes to mind :) )

And about that Spyder...so sad that project was scrapped-they (Audi) really
had us going on that one didn't they!?
