As a counterpoint, the exhaust on my '84 was done in that style. It was
removed, cat-back, and replaced with 2.5" piping ending in a black
SuperTrapp. The pipe work was done up by a local muffler shop, not quite
mandrel bent, but radiused well for the confines...
My goal was to experiment with another system with exceeding OEM cost. If one
assumes a cat back system for a 4000q might be 300$, then I did well...
SuperTrapp-90$
Pipework+tip-100$
And as an added benefit, I didn't have to wrench on my own car! So many
projects, so little time...Thanks to Glen Powell, whose '84 was my model; and
also Stott Hare(duplicate system) for being the first to be stopped by law
enforcement for "nonstandard equipment" ;^)
"BTW I love it loud."
Then this setup might just do the trick!
