Things always happen in bunches.

Several of these (including mine) went south 2 years ago. Someone else
lost theirs this week. The cover is just a pedal feel cover; it does not
have a functional ... uh. function. That spring just pops the cover back
up when needed.

I've been driving without mine for years; I don't even think about it
any more. Mike LaRosa fixed his by drilling a small screw into it as
a hinge. It is tight in there, though....

Beats me. I've never heard of this before. Possibly it is just the
deceleration dashpot being a little to agressive closing the throttle.
Try using your left foot for the brake and keeping a little gas on
with your right foot.
