Re: removing taillight (tracing battery drain)

When I repainted my q this fall, I was going to do it "right"; pulling
things like lights, door hardware, etc instead of masking.

I attempted to remove the rear tails first, and gave up on the idea. No
matter what I tried, I couldn't remove them (for fear of breaking them)

No, I didn't try prying them or anything silly (potential for
breakage-wise), but I did go so far as backing out the nuts halfway, and
placing a nut driver over them and smacking the nut driver with a large
mallet; still no budge. I believe the adhesive resists these
impact-type forces, and to release them you will need to break an edge
loose and use constant force.

Good Luck!
