I agree with a yearly alignment on a quattro.  Mine needs it, and I
notice it most during winter on ice.  If not dialed in perfectly, it
tends to wander.  I always have it done when I put on the Hakka's in
December.

Mine is a early '88 model, in late '88 they switched to a 3-bolt
triangular adjuster scheme.  I assume this was done to improve the
holder  power of the alignment, but I have never heard of anyone to say
it works better.
