RE: Cell phone harness connections
The Nokia 2160 is different from the 2120 and the AT&T 6650. The 2120 and
the equivalent AT&T 6650 are compliance to IS-54 i.e. digital voice and
analogue control channel where as the 2160 the one I have is IS-136
compliance which is the lastest D-AMPS, it has digital voice and digital
control channel and it goes into to sleep mode when it is on standby, as
well for paging and sending SMS to the IS-136 phones but
not true for the IS-54 phones because of the analogue control channel. I
believe the vocoder is different between the IS-54 and IS-136 system. I
am not using a handfrees kit or 3 watt booster.
