Edmunds ratings: V6 owners: reliability so far?]
Edmunds rates reliability for Audis (including the V6) very
very low. Ie.. a 92 100 rates at 5.2 as compared to most Japanese
cars which rate over 8.0.
They must of just changed this cause last years reliability ratings
were much greater, like in the 7's. :(
I've sent them an email asking them to explain what happened.
At this point with all the problems my friend is having, I'm advising
him to move the car. Being an old time Audi enthusiast I'm very
dissapointed in all this. IMO Edmunds is implying that an old Audi
5000 is in the same reliability category as the 90's vintage Audis.
Even S4's are rated in the low 5's. Wish we had access to some
*real* statistics.
thanks,

To all Audi V6 owners, how has reliability been with your cars?
The reason I ask is cause a friends 92 100CS just broke a lifter
after just having a power steering pump replaced. Their car only has
65K miles on it so I'm dissappointed to see failures of this magnitude
so early in the cars life.
Can you tell me what your experiences are so far, especially for
higher milaege cars?
Anyone know what the sample size of this group is?
How many V6 owners are reading this?
TIA,
Carl DeSousa
PS, Another friend I kow has a 93 S4 with 60K miles and the car has
been virtually trouble free. And thats with a modified ECU.
