Hoping Into Dicussion

About a week ago I recived the new (97') PIAA catalog and they also
offer a HID light. I find it interesting that they list NO rating for
"candle power" output like the rest of thier lights. Instead they offer a
Kelvin rating. Down the side of the page they have a scale as to what that
Kelvin rating means. According to PIAA (NOT me) 5250K is the light
output/color of the sun and they are rating thier light at 4300K. In
comparsion (on thier chart) a halogen bulb is 3200K. Thus meaning that
they have a color that is more representative of the sun (I guess).

Again, they *claim* that their 35watt bulb produces over 150watts of
lighting. They also list a part # for a replacement bulb, so I can only
assume that they are replacable....at what cost, I don;t know.

Unfortunatly, they are only offered in PIAA's small lamp style which i
don't like, but some of you might. IMHO, they just look like something
from war of the worlds. I do not have the new pricing sheet, but if
Hella's pricing is any idicator, they are mucho denero.

Disclaimer: I know very little about lighting and beam cutoff's and how
the glass is cut, etc...... All I claim to know is that I have drivin'
with PIAA's 80 series drving lights mounted to the bumper with the *stock*
135/90 H4's and they were AMAZING!!!! This is what I plan to run on the
UrQ when it is done and I offer no aplogies for it! I just wish that they
still made the 80 "Super Racing" 10in monsters! Even at $600 for the pair,
they were well worth the money!

  That's all from me.
