Paul, when I put the MC engine in my '83 tqc I re used my early cooling 
fan shroud because (I think?) that the MC shroud was a little bit taller. 
anyway the old one fit better. I modified the old one by cutting a 2 1/2" 
hole in the shroud and put an aluminum louver in the cutout. I faced the 
lover openings toward the cooling fan. Fan creates a venturi and draws in 
 air as it operates. Keeps the mice out. works fine.
