'85 parts car for my "new" GT Coupe

I could use some advice.  And please forgive my Audi Ignorance where applicable...

My folks' neighbor has an '85 coupe which does not run.  I am considering making an 
offer on it as a parts car.  I believe I can get it for very cheep.

Two questions:

1--Are there significant differences between this car and my '86 GT Coupe that would 
make this a bad buy?  I'm looking for extra hoses, clips, interior parts, glass, etc. 
etc.  (I don't plan on finding, for example, a good alternator on it, but I do have a 
heated garage in which to tear this car apart).

2--I haven't seen the car during daylight so haven't checked badges--was there an 85 
coupe which was *not* a GT? If so, what important differences where there?  (See, I 
told you I is still Audi ignorant).
