Re: Light Research

>I'm no electrical engineer, but doesn't routing via the battery "filter"
out any AC ripple that may be coming from the alternator and shortening bulb
life? Just a question...and a thought.

The battery is still connected to the alternator and lights by two 8 gauge
circuits. What is that thing in capacitive terms, about 10 farads or
something (how many coulombs per volt is 400 amp hours? I'm too lazy to
figure it out) So you shouldn't lose the filtering effect. There also
shouldn't be any meaningful AC effects after the voltage regulator... JTH

Re: Phil's comments on bulb life, my 100/80's haven't popped yet. It's been
about 2-3 months. Purely in the interest of scientific research (officer) I
am going to try some 165/100's soon, be interesting to see if I get the same
kind of life he is seeing. If I do I won't suffer them!

Not an engineer *or* a scientist, I just break stuff -
