I agree, and as a fellow northerner (N.Idaho) and long time DieHard fan,
the new generation of DieHards aren't as durable.  I put an oversized one
(always do) in our 91 Montero in 95 and the interior light killed it in 8
hours.  I used to be able to leave HEADLAMPS on that long and still start,
for-crying-out-loud.  I understand that around 1993/4 Sears went to a new
supplier who had a new (read "cheaper") design.  Another institution dies
away...........
