4kqs cold start question

I've got an '87 4kqs and when the engine is cold it won't start on the
first try.  I can let it crank and it refuses to start.  It always
starts right up on the second try, it starts right away - has not yet
needed a third attempt.  Any ideas?  Once it has been running it
restarts fine, once the engine has gotten cold again I need to go back
to the two attempt ritual.  Its not much hassle but it just started
doing this within the last month or so and I'd like to go back to having
it start right up.
