Volvo AWD v VW - reply

As a Synchro owner I fully agree.  I still find it incredibly
frustrating that VW has been sitting more or less idle through all of
this uproar regarding SUV's.
Here and abroad, millions of these top heavy Explorers, Troopers,
LandSchmoozers, Su-bourbons have been making a killing on the market.
 Granted, these vehicles differ in that they considered tough, burly,
4x4's with mucho ground clearance, BUT where do_ most_ peole drive
them?  On that treacherous asphalt!
As typical, VW will be reintroducing the Synchro here in the next two
years.  Hmmm, just about the time more and more people are realizing
the SUV's are not city drivers and begin putting their money back
into sedans, etc...
If they play their cards right, VW will be able to have an excuse to
get out of the AWD market with the (false) reasoning of low demand
after only 3-4 model years _AGAIN_.
