You are probably comparing apples and oranges. Specs like this
shouldn't be used for comparison unless conducted under identical
conditions.
That said, I believe there isn't much of a horsepower difference
between U.S. and euro engines any more these days. However,
it is possible that the U.S. cars are heavier because they are laden
with more equipment, bigger bumpers, etc., and causes a slower 0-60
time. Driver skill and launch technique can have a big impact on
0-60 time too. You see that much variation between different magazines
tests, on the same car.
