My '93 100CSQ has also taken a nose dive in fuel economy over the last few 
months. When I bought it a year ago, it was getting 22-23MPG.  When CA switched
to the new gas, economy didn't change.  Then it started getting 20-21MPG a few
months ago.  I took it to the dealer and had them check it out.  They couldn't
find anything wrong.  Oddly enough, with the last 2 tanks of gas, economy has improved 
to 22-23MPG!  

My other car ('95 325i) hasn't varied at all, and actually keeps getting better
(25MPG) as the miles wear on...
