okay... along these same lines.... what would be the going price for a
fuel pump for a 85 4kqs? My Haynes only goes to 84 (came with car, dumb
previous owner, I think) so I would need a few hints/tip/techniques on
doing the job. My car seems to have the same early symptoms as
mentioned. On a VERY limited budget, therefore time is less a factor
over than money. I have done most of work before (lights, re-wired
cooling fan, massive radio upgrade, brakes, advanced tune-up, etc) so
am not naive in the nuances of the mighty Audi (ie, standard and metric
sockets in the weirdest of places, ARGH!!) :)
