I've got a Thule/Yakima system that I use for my V8Q (incidentally, Thule is
what is used in the Audi recommended Accessories Book, albeit at a much
higher price), and I'm quite pleased. I'm sure the new Yakima racks are
better than the older models, but I can't comment.  I've also got the Thule
fork-mount bike rack and windscreen.  For storage purposes, I'm using the
Yakima Space Case  (approx. $500 with locks and bigger brother of the Rocket
Box) and it's worked well, even at above legal speeds.  Tip:  I always clean
and wax the area where the pads attach to, because any abrasion can easily
damage the paint, and clean and wax again after use (Meguire's cleaner -wax
works great for this purpose).  And always recheck the rack for tightness
when travelling.
