Re[2]: Is Clair cool?
For those frustrated Audi owners who have needlessly suffered from any
of the dealers located in the metropolitan Boston area, contact me
about an excellent Audi-certified mechanic who works strictly out of
his garage in the Foxboro area.

.....Clair in MA I assume? Well after the body shop did their part, I had to
send my 200TQ to Clair Service to do the fine tuning and decipher what the
body shop fudged. Clair insisted that I authorize three hours of labor to be
used for diagnostics(????). Heres what they told me....."The windshield
wipers dont work". (no Shi# !, I knew that, thats why Im in the shop), "The
brakes needed replacing". (Gee I knew that too via the "replace pads" light).
"The computer is bad". $1,750 (Oh really), "The speedo doesnt work". (yeah,
ok, but why). "The E-Brake is frozen". (approximately 10 seconds to figure
out what I already new). And "Hydrolic fluid is leaking from somewhere".
(??somewhere??). Oh and I also got the usual disclaimer, "your callipers
will probably need to be replaced, they look bad". (??look??) THIS ALL TOOK
THREE HOURS?
What I drove (hobbled) away with was basically a reassurance that everything
that i thought was wrong with my car, was actually wrong with it. Never any
explaination as to why or any pinpointing as to the cause or solution, except
to "REPLACE" it. My so called diagnostic cost me $195.00 plus $18.95 for
hydro fluid. My total estimate for future work was $3,895.00. Youv'e got to
be kidding Clair???
I also feel it necessary to mention the BODACIOUS motor oil leak that
suddenly happened less than a block away from the dealer. Let me say for the
record....Ive NEVER taken my Audi anywhere that has done decent work, all I
usually come away with is more problems.
Sorry for rambling, but some people (dealers) really push my buttons!
