If this is for real, why hasn't it made a splash in EC mag yet? I know of
an Abt dealer who is a division of Joe Hoppen Motorsports in the DC area.
They are called VW Sport USA and are in Springfield VA, right across from
Springfield VW. Their phone number is (703)451-5134. Ask for Brad or Adrian
and mention the Corrado Club of America. They offered us a 10% discount.
Anyway Adrian was driving a Jetta GLX that looked like an Abt showcar
except for the VW Sport lable. Last we spoke in Nov he was trying to sell
it and buy an A4. If he has it I'm sure it's wicked and they'll probably
move into Audi tuning as well. They are affiliated with J Hoppen, but I'm
not sure how. Anyway that might be your source for this mysterious kit. If
it's not too expensive maybe I can talk my sis into installing it in her
90CS.

Is this figure in English pounds or US dollars. I'm not sure of the
exchange rate, but to show my point, the Canadian dollar is worth 3/4 the
US dollar, so grey marketing cdn cars is a fairly affordable alternative.
Besides have you ever compared British new car prices with US prices. VW
and Audi are alot cheaper stateside. This will have an effect.
Selling the car in mass numbers (atleast compared to the original) will
also be a factor in lowering cost. We can also consider degree of tuning.
US spec M cars are detuned to meet pricing restrictions as could the RS and
leave the super tuning to the aftermarket.

That is why it is a "dream" lineup. But then again, so is might have been
for Chrysler in 1992 with the idea of a linup consisting of a the Viper,
Prowler, V10 Ram, Durango SUV, Grand Cherokee and many other great cars
without the help of Mitsubishi.

As I prefer the smaller A4, the I5 is not a choice, but I agree Hoppen
seems to have a great thing going.

To all of you cutting on the dream linup, it is precisely that... a
"dream". While I realize it is unrealistic for a very conservative VWAG, it
still seems to me the best way to attack the large American Market. VW
seems to have an identity problem, and while they can build great cars,
they can' t market them very well. For this reason I threw in my 2 cents.
I'm surprised I got so much criticism when saying Audi should build some S
and RS spec cars. Don't forget I titled the message "Imagine" and not
"Coming soon to an Audi dealer near you."
