What happened to your Coupe GT. I own an 86 w/ the "white-out" package,
red leather, and a digital dash. I'm not sure if it's a Comm. Ed. or a
Special Ed./Do you know and what was Comm. about yours?

Allan -
Comm Ed is my short hand for Commemorative Edition. It was the "white
out pkg" as you stated. White spoiler, wheels, red leather, digital
dash, trip computer. (I'm pulling these out of memory--I had the the
factory window sticker, but don't know what happened to it) It was
available on ly in the 1986 model year and I think was either to
commemorate 10 years of Audi in the US (1976 was the first year for the
Audi Fox in the US-I think), but someone on the list said it was to
commemorate 100 years of the automobile (1886?? -maybe the combustion
engine). That's as much as I know. A lot of guessing and "I thinks"
here.

My Coupe was my first car. Bought it with 142k on it, in 1993, for
$2900. The car was hit in 1994 by a Ford F-150. Did $3500 of damage to
the coupe, $40 to the F-150 (his bumper needed repainted) Caught the
front driver corner of my car when it was parked. He backed into it.
Just enought to mess everyting up. I took the insurance settlement and
sold the car as-is. Saw it again about a year later at a local used car
dealer. They wanted $3995 for it and said it was a one-owner. (I was
the third and the guy that bought it from me sold it about two months
later) Needless to say after I told them the history, it sat for about
four months and then they told me they sold it to a bone yard.

Sorry for the long BW.

Looking for that "priced right" Coupe Quattro

Bryan,
Sorry to hear about it's fate. I/we(the Coupe and I) have endured
two "totals!" in the past year and I still love it - although right now
it sits waiting to have a new fuel pump? installed. It started stalling
randomly and as time went on it got harder and harder to restart until
one day it just wouldn't restart. I did not hear any noise coming from
the fuel pump so I am not sure if that's it. Hope to be driving it next
week!
I realized Comm. Ed. was short for ... but what does ". . .long BW"
mean?
