Rust, and more...
Hearing all these horror stories, I have one question:
How do you have your windshield replaced without having your paint damaged
and your car turning into a rust bucket??? I know you folks out in Colorado
have your windshields replaced often, so I don't believe that this is always
the case. I am going to have my chipped up windshield replaced pretty soon, an
d want to know how to avoid this catastrophy.
I already have some rust spots showing up under where the trunk is and abo
ve the bumper chrome trim in the rear of the car due to poor repairwork after
the car was rearended a few years back. I know that when they stripped the pai
nt off, they probably stripped that zinc coating off as well, and good body
shops can re apply a coating of this before applying the paint. For any of
you people just getting back from Steamboat and needing body work ;), make sure
you aske them to do this. I'm not sure if it's normal procedure.
