just got a call from my agent this week... He checked the computer and
came up with an 'accident' I was involved with almost 3 years ago. I
said "huh?".

He gave me a date and then I remembered - it was a motorcycle accident
that I had. I was stopped in the middle of the street, behind a van
which was stopped for a crosswalk. A car from the left side street
decides to creep out in front of the van. The van backs up. I was
on my dual FIAMMS immediately and for the duration. The van continues
backing up and folds up my front fender. I didn't even drop the bike.

The damage was small (~$500) and there were plenty of witnesses whose
names and numbers I collected. With no question of responsibility, the
other driver's insurance paid up. I refused to provide information
about my insurance because:

    1) it very clearly wasn't my fault
    2) insurance isn't required for motorcycles (although I have it)

The other insurance company must have reported it to the state. Our
agent was cool with the explanation and I haven't heard squat since.
As I insure our house|motorcyles(3)|cars(3) with him and we both
have spotless records, he's going to make it go away. It also happened
almost 3 years ago - the length of time the actuaries figure for you
to change your habits.

that's my story and I'm stickin' to it...
