S6 wagon woes...

third time is supposed to be charmed. let's hope so.

Our '95.5 S6 wagon went into the shop yesterday for a 3K (interval)
oil change and to take another look at the rattle above the driver's
seat. The oil change went smoothly and after getting a call from my
service advisor, it looked like they could replicate the rattle.

I got another call later in the day, asking me to come in and pick
up a loaner as it would take another day or two. They had all of the
interior trim pieces out of the car: headliner, doors, pillar, etc.
and the service manager told me that it _still_ rattled. They have
a couple of guys with stethoscopes listening (and driving) to find
out what it might be. They think that it may be a bad (or
non-existent) weld.

Audi NA has no record of this ever having happened. The good news is
that Audi is mandating a fresh headliner be installed once repairs
have been made. Bjorn, the service manager, is leaning towards _not_
welding due to the massive amounts of electronic systems onboard.

IMHO, they're on top of the situation - both Audi and UVAS (Seattle).
The car's been great and will continue to be so once these repairs
are complete.

On another note, I am unsubbing today due to a change in employment.
I'm not moving or leaving the Seattle area, merely modifiying my
situation. I will resub shortly with the new address below...

take care folks!!!!
