Useless? IMO, since almost all other cars of the same class come with 15"
or 14" rims (BMW 328is has 15" rims) and the A4T comes with 15" rims. Also
given the fact that the rims are priced high and the weight of the rim is
probably heavier then that of a 3rd party rim of the same price.
Performing a plus 1 application is not useless!

Any plus 1 application can only improve the performance and handling of the
automobile. See the Oct or Nov issue of European Car Mag. They performed
a plus one application on an 2.8 A4 and claimed the results were
outstanding. The same holds true in Bert's case. Bert can probable pick
up a set of used rims for about half that price. Still expensive but they
are very nice looking for a stock rim (IMO).

Now the tires? Well, they leave a lot to be desired! Although they are a
good all weather tire, they are far from a performance tire. That is to
anyone who has driven with an Yoko. AVS or equivalent tire. But all the
same, for most people purchasing the car, the tires are okay and provide a
good and safe under-standing.

In summary, compared to other rims of the same size for the same price, I
agree with you that the stock rims also leave a lot to be desired. But I
would not classify them as useless, compared with what other similar
vehicles come with now a days. However, I will someday apply a plus 1
application to my A4Q.

Just my humble opinion.
