If you are sure it has never been done; YES!!!!!
    Do NOT pass GO!!!!
    Do NOT collect $200!!!!!
Go DIRECTLY to your Audi mechanic and get it changed!!!!!!

My experience has been that after 50,000 miles you're on borrowed time.
If the car has been gently driven you probably can go longer, but I had
one that slipped 2 cogs because the belt got too loose. Fortunately, it
didn't break or I am sure I would have had a very expensive engine repair
bill as the valves went slamming into the pistons.

As far as the steering, open the reservoir cap and check the power steering
fluid. If it resembles the Exxon Valdiz oil spill, I would get the fluid
flushed out and replaced. Don't know what you mean by noise, but so
far from inside the car, the steering is quiet, although it makes some
hydraulic-type hissing/whoosing noise normally. Do not hear excessing
steering noise when cold, and only thing I've done is change fluid 2 times
in car life and replace the hydraulic pressure accumulator.

This maintenance isn't cheap, but consequences of not doing them are
MUCH more expensive!

Don't know what being from La-La land has to do with this, but no; I live
in the land of the #1 football team in the USA; the Pittsburgh Steelers
(so sez everybody here; frankly, I could care less!).

I have a 90 Coupe Quattro with 88,000. Are you saying I should change
the timing belt pronto? Any other repairs coming up? The steering is
making noise when it's very cold but I don't see a leak of power
steering fluid. Have you had this problem or are you from CA?
