Canada, eh?
>Yes, Igor, welcom to America--maybe the only land where people forget that
>driving is actually a priveledge, and actually requires INPUT from a
driver?
Canadian drivers aren't much better in most parts. Some regions (namely
folks in Alberta and B.C.) constantly make jokes about each others driving
abilities. I think it has something to do with the flat prairie lands of
Alberta, and the Albertan's ability to negotiate a curve.... B.C. being
mountainous and requiring much more input.
While some police forces are more revenue driven than others, it seems that
in Ontario, there is GREAT resistance to being pulled over for doing only a
few km's over the 100 km/h limit. Generally, one can drive 115 to 120 km/h
(about 73) on the highway and not worry. Folks who do 65 MPH should stay in
the right lane. Cops who pull over too eagerly get yelled at for not having
criminals to apprehend, or other useful law enforcement activity. Quota's
and revenue generation are still politically incorrect (for the moment).
Photo radar in Ontario was scrapped due to the public outcry.
I heard rumour that a US state tried photo radar but had to cancel when the
expensive, unmanned camera's were taken out by shot gun blasts! Is there
any truth to that? Now that is resistance to legalized taxation!!! Are
your police forces immune to criticism?
