Yep. I gave myself an interesting and unintended demonstration
of this. Top of the driveway, which is very steep, was also
very icy one morning. Crept the car up to the edge. Stopped,
looked down the slope with the same fear that I had my first
time on a black-diamond ski trail. Crept the car slowly over the
edge, put on the brakes, and down we slid, the wheels completely
locked. I had to take my foot off the brake and let the car move
a little more before I had ABS kick in.
