I should have mentioned this in my previous reply (and it
was indeed Ed that I was thinking of, when I said that someone
else had done this). I thought that it went without saying
that, in talking about picking up power in the sunroof control
area, that we're not talking about using the power line that
goes to the sunroof motor! As others have pointed out, this
line is likely to see lots of inductive noise and possibly
a resistive voltage drop during sunroof operation, and these don't
mix well with electronics such as those in the radar detector.
Tap into a line that supplies power to the dome lights instead.
