Interesting race car article
In march issue of C & D, there is an interesting article about
Bob Riley. As you may know, Riley has designed mucho race cars. From
the old Coyote Indy car that A.J. ran, to the many IMSA GTO cars, up to
the Riley Scott [R&S]MK 3- Olds that Wayne Taylor piloted.
Anyway, Riley states that a setup with 56% of the weight on the
rear of the car is the perfect race car setup. Also, he has thrown out
the coil-over arrangement and developed the "Riley Rocker"---which has
the springs and shocks mounted in seperate locations. Sounds like he is
big on the variable-rate shock / constant-rate spring setup.
Interesting read. Even if you have to buy the mag.
