4000Q wheels...

Just thought I would share the following with this group:

I have found that the wheels from an 89 or so model 100 will fit the
     4000 Q. They are a 15 x 6 with the 4-108 bolt pattern. They exist in
the six spoke "aero" style, or the more conservative BBS mesh stile.
I got the aero ones. They fit perfectly on the hub, without any
adapter rings like after-market wheels use.

The trick thing is, they have a 45 mm offset, which is really
critical. After a lot of frustrating phone calls to Tire Rack, et al,
I came to the realization that all the after-market wheels out there
have a 35 mm offset. And then with further research at junk yards,
parking lots, etc., I realized that only the 100 model had the proper
     offset.

This is real critical, because of the tires I am running. I have
205/55-15's on them. I think they look great, because they are nice
and big, and because they are held in by that 10 mm, they don't rub.

A lot of guys thinks it's cool to put 195/50-15's on a 15x7 rim with
the 35 mm offset. To me, you are cheating yourself out of some size
here, and are probably giving yourself a harsher ride than necessary.
With these choice in wheel, I have enough sidewall to keep the ride
     nice.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, I have about 1/8" clearance to the
outer tie rod ends in the front. It really is cool how nicely these
     wheels fit.

Well, I thought I'd share that with anyone who is interest. I just
wish I had know about this idea earlier, without having to go through
all the research. But, now that it's all over, I am really pleased
     with the outcome.
