V8 UrQ!

Ok OK, so my secret is out! What can I say, I just wanted to keep it
under my belt untill I was sure what I was going to do and if it was going
to work.

So, this weekend I passed the point of no return and I started to do
some welding in the engine bay. First off, I had to cut out the old motor
mount...no, not the rubber things, but the whole stamped metal mount that
is welded to the frame rails. Initally, I was under the impression that
only one was going to have to be moved, but I was VERY wrong and the both
has to be moved. The motor mounts on the UrQ and ALL 5cyl. Audi's are
offset a little and on the V8, they are directly across from eachother.
However, it is not as simple as moving just one to line up with the other.
They both must be moved and twards the firewall.

At this point I am at the VERY preliminary stages of this HUGE project,
so I can't give all the details, but I can tell you this.......LOTS and
LOTS of work! Should you start to think about doing this...think again! I
can tell you this though: dimensionally, it fits beautifully! IMHO, it
fits much nicer than the 5cyl, but that could just be me. At this point,
my biggest concerens are the Rad. and assoc. plumbing and the exhaust. It
has been decided (very late at a bar in Steamboat) that dual exhaust is
THE way to go and I tend to agree. So, now I have to figure out how to get
dual 2.25 down the tunnel and over the rear axles (or do I go side exit
like before? ).

After those two things, I truely belive that it is going to be a plug in
operation. Sound strange, well maybe, but only time will tell. Also, I did
come out of the closet with this some time ago, but I am not sure that
anyone caught it. It is in my sig. line. The engine code for 3.6l V8's it
PT and I have it in my Sig line as "83' UrQ #346 PT2B". Just thought I
would point that out. :)

Questions, comments and suggestions are always welcome. Oh yeah, they
aren't up yet, but you will be able to see pictures of the progess on
Chris Tuckers web page. It has moved, so point your browers to:
