RE: Ultimate Parking Story
Well, I live in the area, and went to AU as an undergrad. Don't worry about
the guy/gal driving the BMW, though. Daddy will buy him/her a new bumper or,
a new '97. The Bimmer owner will be OK.
Pathetic :-(

Subject: Ultimate Parking Story
I know you all probably have war stories from parking lots and especially
parallel parking. My job puts me in the District of Columbia often, and my
car's bumpers show the knicks and scratches from parking in the land of
bumper car parkers. My Corrado even sports a divet in the side of the front
bumper and a scratch/dent in the fender.
Tonight though I saw the ultimate in rude parking. It's way beyond a bump,
scrape or parking someone in. I was at American University at one of the
student lots outside the library picking up my wife from a class there. I
watched the owner of a late model BMW 325i Coupe attempt a spot way too
small for him. Of course he bumped the car behind him, then pulling back
and trying again, and bumping again. However, this time he actually
attempted to push the car behind him backwards into the next car so as to
fit in a spot that was actually the space between two real spots and not a
spot at all. The mitsubishi he tried to push (I listened to him rev his
engine in strain to push it) must have been too heavy for the Bimmer and he
eventually gave up. Had it moved it would have had no room to leave the
spot.
People really need to realize there are others out there besides
themselves, especially the Bimmer owner. Being that I was driving a rental
car, I would have loved to find the BMW and put a nice dent in it's doors
with my back bumper, but my concience got the best of me, and I did nothing
but give the guy a dirty look.
