Re: 88 5000cstq

Well I am biased...because I own one....I think the 87-88 5KCSTQ's are a
great platform for a performance oriented daily driver.

In typical Audi fashion you should watch out for the switches, and other
electrical gremlins since these cars have their share of the Audi
electric....window switches, a/c programmer, mirror switches, sunroof,
etc......don't forget the power antenna.

More serious is timing belt, p/s pump, pressure accumulator, p/s rack, and
the timing belt.

The rear suspension has some tranverse links and support bushings that can be
pricey so I would check the rear suspension components very carefully. At
100K assume new rear brake rotors and pads.

I bought by 88 5KCSTQ a year ago and have it at peak running shape now for
less than $ 6,500.00 ..... and I mean synthetics alll the way around.....new
brakes....new rear suspension pieces...etc... let me know if you need more
details.....oh by the way I am running more boost now and boy is this machine
sweet.....you might want to talk to STEADIRIC about his suspension mods.....

Adios,
