You seem to miss the point. Given the amount of disk space that I have, I am
relatively unaffected by mailbombs. On the other hand, some of our listers
have accounts in which even relatively small mailbombs could shut down there
accounts. I received a total of just over 300k of mails, and Robert was
unsuccesful at subscribing me to any lists. Had he been succesful it could
have been much worse. Had this been the case, my account could have been
shut down, causing mail from 60 lists to be bounced back to the qlist.
At that point I think you would care.
Secondly, if Dan and the listmembers as a whole decide to kick Robert of the
list, then that decision should be based on facts, not just: "he mailbombed
me, kick him off the list." Below are the facts.
As far as whether or not Robert mailbombed me using Kaboom v3.0, below are
two headers. One is the header from a mail that Robert sent to me:
------------
Received: from audi4000.flexnet.com (host95.flex.net [208.135.232.95])
by tron.flex.net (8.8.5/6.6.6) with SMTP
id XAA25943 for <jstevens@kaiwan.com>; Tue, 18 Feb 1997 23:50:13 -0600
Message-Id: <3.0.32.19970219002928.0070bd6c@flex.net>
X-Sender: nance@flex.net
X-Mailer: Windows Eudora Pro Version 3.0 (32)
Date: Wed, 19 Feb 1997 00:29:29 -0600
To: jstevens@kaiwan.com
From: Rob Nance <nance@flex.net>
-------------
The second is a header from a mail he wrote attempting to subscribe me
to the listserv of a gay/lesbian organization(note this in one of 60
requests he sent):
--------------
Received: from kaiwan.com (host95.flex.net [208.135.232.95]) by
dogwood.grove.ufl.EDU (8.8.5/8.7.3/3) with SMTP id CAA05382 for
<listserv%albnyvm1.bitnet@listserv.net>; Wed, 19 Feb 1997 02:05:47 -0500 (EST)
Date: Wed, 19 Feb 1997 02:05:47 -0500 (EST)
Message-Id: <199702190705.CAA05382@dogwood.grove.ufl.EDU>
To: <listserv%albnyvm1.bitnet@listserv.net>
--------------
Note that both originated from (host95.flex.net [208.135.232.95]),
otherwise known as audi4000.flexnet.com. This may have nothing to
do with Audi's, but it is definitely relevant to the list. At this
point, it would be a good idea to privately e-mail Dan if you think
Robert should be kicked off the list.
