Over here, we're not keen on being "controlled" by anyone. Police officer
or
not. And to suggest that we would yield civil liberties to make a police
 officer feel "comfortable".

Your not controlled ?

Across the pond if I understand correctly, only your criminals carry guns.

Here in the new world we let the police carry guns, just like the criminals

and, many law abiding citizens. I and many other law abiding Americans are
willing to tolerate minor iritations if it will provide comfort to those who
have sworn to protect us. For as much as I deserve my constitutional rights,
they deserve the opportunity to assure themselves that I am a law abiding
citizen and not a border jumping drug runner more willing to die than go to
jail.

After all, here in Marlboro country the Constable On Patrol may be hundreds
of miles from backup and just might have to be ready to lynch up a bad guy or
two from the tallest tree if it's easier than toten 'em back to Dodge City.

The second ammedment to the Constitution of The United States of America
gives every law abiding citizen of the United States the right to keep and
bear arms. Over here in the colonies, we've always believed that it is not
only our right, but if nessecary it is our constitutional duty to overthrow
an oppressive government with a properly organized and armed malitia, we did
it once about 220 years ago. We are after all, are an unruly rowdy bunch.

In the United States of America, when properly tuned, our law is such that
all rights and power is sourced from the people , "... by the people and for
the people..." and that those powers not specifically granted by the
Constitution to the goevernment belong to the people, and the Constitution
says nothing less.

Your way if I understand it correclty considers the people to be granted
privalege by the government or the crown.

What can be granted can be refused, think about it. We can withold power
from our government.... on the the other hand your government can withold
power from the citizens, that's you.

Now what was it you were saying, something about not being controlled ?
There was something too about not yielding cival liberties wasn't there. Hmm,
Saturday morning I'm going to grab the 12, throw it in the Quattro and take a
ride out to the State Park. I think I'll shoot a box of clays ...

Perhaps you consider your nations ways better, perhaps they are for you.
But not for me.
