Re: Wheel Damage
As usual I am dozens of digests behind.
I have used the Wheel Collision Center of Bath, Pa. twice. For the same
wheel!
First time, wife hit a pot hole, blew tire and bent rim on Jetta GL. It
is one of those 14" 7 spoke OEM jobs. WCC did a "while you wait" and
chrage was $70 as quoted.
Second time, wife slid out on some ice on a downhill (do we see a
pattern?) there was much facial damage, so I knew I was over the $70
mark. I called every bone yard I could find, no luck. The answer I kept
getting was "rare bird". Best price for a new one was $365 discounted.
WWC had one, straight and freshly painted. $165, they mounted and
balanced the tire and I was on my way in under an hour.
Sometimes you just have to pay. I've thrown away my share of aluminum
rims when I was able to find replacements cheap. This time I was
satisfied to get things back to normal.
I have found all the people at WWC to be courteous and professional.
Only problem I have is I live over an hour away.
I would like to find a similar shop in NJ. If anyone knows of one please
post.
Thanks
