Must be 'cause I use gas instead of petrol! Actually there was a
small amount of black crud in the bottom of the tank when I changed the
pump (both times), but not any more than you might expect for 150K, and I
always get "name-brand" stuff. Couldn't see any water under the gas in the
tank, so I don't think that is the cause of the car's appetite for fuel
pumps. Even at two pumps in 160K, I can't say I have much to complain
about, 'cause they're the only parts I've had to replace except for regular
wear items (brakes, timing belt). Oh yes, and the prop shaft joints are
ready to be replaced now...
