So, how would you explain the results - scientifically, not using 
abstract hand-waving arguments?

They  don't explain their results scientifically either! If you call them 
and ask any specifics about their tests and the way they were performed  
they'll tell you - NOPE we can't tell you that, because of corporate 
secrets. 
An answer like this totally nullifies their experiment.
