RE: Replacing 96 A4 armrests....

First of all, you cannot just order only the armrests...you have to order the entire door panel at $367.00 apiece...however, if you're up to it, you can remove your door panel and melt the armrest out...you can then peel off the offending cloth material and replace it with anything you like...
hope this helps...

Subject: Replacing 96 A4 armrests....

I really hate the fact that the armrests on my 96
A4 are cloth. I guess Audi did too since the 97s
have leather armrests (2.8s at least).

I was just wondering if it is possible to replace
my 96 cloth armrests (the 4 on the doors and maybe
also the top of the center armrest between the driver
and passenger) with the 97 leather variety through a
simple swap. What I'm trying to say is, if I ordered
97 A4 leather armrest consoles, would they fit onto
my 96 A4 with no hassles? Did Audi change the design
of the armrests at all for 97 (besides obviously making
them leather).

Anyone have any thoughts on this or, possibly, a better
replacement for the cloth armrests (yech!)?

Any comments/help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ali.
