Odd thing is, _your_ MIME headers don't cause me any problems:
 
   MIME-Version: 1.0
   Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
   Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

But (e.g.) this one does:

   MIME-Version: 1.0
   Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
   Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Hmm.  Wonder what the difference is?
